By Debra Moore

There are never enough things to do in Rome. Hoards of enthusiastic tourists and travellers are walking around on the city streets exploring the sites. There are always fun daytime things to do in Rome which will lead to inspiration, curiosity and adventure. A trip like this is not only fun, but it helps you learn more about the city.

Places like Pizza Navorna or the Villa Borghese are simply beautiful. The Colloseum is visited by millions of people every year. You can either book tickets on the day or before you go. However, it is recommended that you book online before your trip. Standing in queues is not much fun. You need to be well organised otherwise you may just be disappointed.

You can then treat yourself to an ice-cream. Rome sells some of the best ice-creams around. People are always queuing up for a gelato. They may be taking a breaking before they start their next tour. You can watch some of the street performers or you can browse one of the markets. You will never get tired of these daytime activities.

Apart from espresso, there is also a range of other coffees available. Start with a cappuccino or a macchiato. You may find that this is completely different from what you are used to. It is always a good idea to experiment with the foods and the drinks from another country. This is how you learn more about the place as well as the people.

Rome will cater for just about anyone. There are the rich and famous who like to go shopping at some of the most famous boutiques. Other people like to go on a budget. There are people who are more bohemian in nature. Different people will go to different areas. For example, if you are more bohemian, then you will find that Trastevere is more your cup of tea.

The Colloseum is not to be missed, and probably won't be with millions of people visiting this landmark every year. It is a place that has a lot of history behind it. It is the largest amphitheatre where people watched a lot of fights, big and small. Most of the Colloseum has been well preserved. It is a good idea to buy tickets online. In this way you avoid all the people.

The Piazza Navona is a great spot for when you just need to take a break and simply relax before heading off to your next tour. This is a square with restaurants and shops that are artistically displayed. You can sit down somewhere and watch the crowds go by. You can also watch some of the entertainment which does happen every so often.

You can't leave Rome without doing a little shopping. It doesn't mean that to spend a fortune. There are many little cobble stone streets with shops that are really great. You can find great deals at the markets. Of course, if you do have more money to spend, you can head out towards the Colosseum where there are more boutique shops. Here you will find clothes and jewellery.
