Means Of Curing Blue Henon Bamboo Tree

By Stephen Watson

Drying is a very important after bamboos have been cut down since you will be able to enjoy long term use. If this is not done, it is likely that fungi will grow not to mention rotting as well insect manifestation will take place. To increase suitability, ensure that you cure a blue henon bamboo tree as soon as you have cut it down.

First things first, harvesting has to be done in the most appropriate way. Shoots that are no less than five years are the best reason being this decrease the likelihood of splitting. In the course of the five years, hardening will have taken place and as a result boring by insects is virtually impossible. The areas around nodes are actually the hardest and thus cutting should be done there.

A pocket friendly and easy method to work with is air drying. It is for these reasons that air drying has become very common. The shoots need to be stored vertically after being cut. The branches should be left intact so that evaporation will happen easily. Place them somewhere with a shade so that evaporation rate is just right. Note that hastened evaporation increases likelihood of cracking.

Another practical method is fire drying by use of propane torches. Bamboos have oils called resins responsible for preservation. Heating around the cut areas is done at a temperature ranging at 120 degrees Celsius in a manner that it does not burn. Wipe the resin the moment it appears since this will enhance surface sealing and preservation. In addition, anything preventing moisture eradication in the bamboos is essentially removed.

A wood-stove will do as well. It can help achieve a result similar to the propane torch. The better parts of Chinese craftsmen are fond of this method and all they do is use fire pits containing charcoal to achieve a result that is remarkable. On the other hand, ensure that heating is focused on a single areas reason being the resin will dry as soon as the heating is stopped.

Another tactic is soaking in water. You should submerge bamboos completely in water and allow soaking for 3 months to allow complete saturation. Allow the plant to dry under the sun. The soaking will prevent insect manifestation reason being the starches they feed on is removed. Drying the plant in the evening will allow proper evaporation so as to avoid cracking even in hot weather.

Cracking of bamboos is probably the biggest worry in the course of curing. As a result, you are advised to deploy mechanisms that can put an end to this menace. An effective way to do so is using a sealant for the reason that drying rate is maintained at the best speed possible.

Once curing is complete, the color turns from greenish to yellowish. Even if bamboos feel light after the process of curing is complete, they have great strength. After bamboo drying is completed, such bamboos can then be utilized for amazingly lots of purposes such as making of household furniture plus many more.
