Ever miss that feeling as a little kid when you received a gift from your loved ones? Do you miss that feeling of extreme bliss and enjoyment speeding through your entire body? That is the exact feeling I felt when my Dad brought home a cute orange and white kitten.
I was just about 6 years old. Each Saturday morning my father would wake up very early to make coffee, shower and read the entire newspaper. One morning in particular he told me he was going to the store to pick up some groceries. He asked me if I wanted anything from the store and I told him just a package of gum. My Dad said okay and I patiently waited for him to return to bring me a pack of gum.
About an hour later my Dad came back but he did not have the pack of gum that I was expecting. Instead he was carrying the cutest kitten I had ever seen! I was so happy that he got me a kitten. I had been asking him for weeks to have a cat. My kitten was so cute and had the best looking fur. He was deigned beautifully with orange and white tabby stripes. On top of that he was so nice and constantly purred.
Of course I totally forgot about the gum because I got a new baby kitten. I named him Ralphy and he was one of the best cats I've ever had. There would be times when I wasn't feeling well and Ralphy would come lay next to my head and knead his paws into my hair. It would feel so good getting a massage on my head and having him purring at the same time. It was a very comforting feeling and that is one reason why I'm such a cat lover.
I won't ever forget that special day when my Dad surprised me with the cutest little kitten ever. It's amazing that I still remember this morning after so many years. Surprise gifts are the best and you can be young or old to enjoy them!
