Fun Easy DIY Projects For Decorating Your Home

By Karina Frost

Do it yourself projects are becoming more and more popular with people these days. There are so many different fun easy diy projects that anyone can use to decorate the home with. A lot of these projects can be done with things that are easy to find. These are fun and easy projects that are cheap as well.

You could build a head board for any bed in your home. This is an easy diy project that will not cost you much at all and it will turn an ordinary bed in to something extraordinary. All you need is a few wooden pallets and some wood stain or paint that you choose. Just paint or stain the pallets out doors and once they dry bring them into the bedroom and then just set it up against a wall and put your mattresses in front of it and you have a head board you made yourself.

I am sure you have a lot of cords around your television or computer area that are plugged into a power strip. Well there is a simple, easy, and cheap way for you to take care of that problem. Grab an old shoe box and either paint it or wrap it with wrapping paper so that it matches whichever room you will be using it in. Cut out a hole large enough for the cords to stick out on each end of the box.

Put the power strip full of cords into the shoe box and pull the cord from the power strip through one of the already cut out holes in your box and plug it up. Then you run the cords through the other hole you cut out and plug them into the strip and put the top on it.

Another great project that would look amazing in the kitchen is a diy cooking utensil holder. Buy a metal rake, not a plastic one and then you remove the handle. Hang the bottom part of the rake on the wall and then you just hang your utensils on the individual prongs of the rake. You can leave it the way it comes or you can paint it to match your kitchen.

A fun kitchen project for you and the kids is making holders for your eating utensils. Take a some food cans that you have used and instead of throwing them away just wash them and set them aside to dry. All you need now is whatever color paint you want to use. Paint the outside as well as the inside of the cans.

You should paint the inside of the cans also so that when you take a fork or spoon out you see the color inside as well as outside. You should do a separate can for each type of utensil. You will want to have one for forks, butter knives, spoons and your steak knives. You can put them on the kitchen table so you do not have to get them out during meal times because they are already on the table.

The projects can be fun, easy and cheap. These are projects that will add charm to any home just by using ordinary items that normally get thrown away.
