Expert Tips For Magical Dahlia Flower Arrangments

By Karen McDonald

Dahlia is a beautiful species but this beauty can be lost because of how it is arranged. Combining it with other flowers also affects its beauty. Perfect dahlia flower arrangments can only be achieved step by step. Here are secrets by experts on how to have a magical arrangement for the species and other flowers.

Pick the right flower. Though all flowers are beautiful, the color, level of blooming, shade and such other aspects, make a stem beautiful. Since this bloom will be the vocal point in your organization, it must be perfect. It cannot anchor the beauty of your vase or stand if it is wilted or its stem is broken, among other issues.

Boost the texture of your arrangement. There is no beauty in using flowers of a single species, color or texture. Even an entire acre will lose its beauty in the process. Beauty and texture are enhanced by mixing the flowers with others. Some of the best options include eucalyptus, ferns, poms and lisuanthus. Consider the scent of flowers when mixing them up.

Collect the tools you need for the work. You require a table where all your flowers, the vases and cutting tools will be placed. The tools you require include a sharp paring knife or scissors, the vase and floral tape. If your flowers have thorns, a rose stem cleaner will come in handy. Choose tools that are easy to use and convenient for you.

Choose a perfect vase for arranging the flowers. Each project requires a unique design, weight, height and color. The size of your vase will affect the number of flowers that can go into the vase. Choose a deep vase that can accommodate the stalks. Decorations on the vase should complement your choice of colors and design.

Flowers require processing before arrangement. Processing means that the stems are unpacked and the vase prepared. Add water at room temperature to the vase. Ensure that the water is not too cold or too hot because it will shock your flowers. Trim the edges of your flowers before placing them onto the vase. This keeps the flowers adequately hydrated.

Set up a grid on your vase. This defines which flower type will go where. The grid also affect the shape of the entire arrangement. Long and large flowers go in first because they will anchor others to determine the ultimate design. Special wires or a special sponge are also used to define the shape of a floral arrangement.

Put the greens at the bottom or before all the other flowers. This is the universal or natural arrangement that can be seen even on a flowerbed. The blooms must be handled carefully to avoid crushing them. Wilted flowers should not form part of your arrangement.

Maintaining a bloom requires regular replacement of water. If the flowers drink from the bloom, you should mist it as well. Run water on a vase that makes it difficult for you to change without disorganizing the flowers. Have a 360 degrees view of the arranged vase to have a wider perspective of your vase as people will see it from different positions in the room.
