The Perfectly Affordable Dragon Force RG65

By Juana Gamble

RC Yachts has introduced a radio controlled boat for sailing newbies and hobbyists all the same. The Dragon Force RG65 was designed to act as a surrogate yacht for this specific market demographic. It offers a competitive yachting experience to those who aren't sure of their passion for the sport, or to those who sail less frequently than the regular competitor.

The people who came up with or designed the Dragon Force used Mark Dicks' "Ice" boat as a model due to how well the boat fares in the market already. The yacht includes an aluminum keel, a stiff hull, and a pre-fitted sheet deck. The 2.4GHz radio, rudder, and winch servo are all located right under the deck.

The yacht comes with a main rig, along with two smaller rigs attached to it for smooth performance. All three rigs are built with care to follow RC yacht regulations. Adding the two smaller rigs is interesting, however, because it is unique from other competition.

A fully built yacht weighs about 1,200g. It is small and light, and performs exceptionally well in fast breezes due to the unique rig and hull. Additionally, it's very easy to put together. Using the descriptive manual, you will only need about 2 or 3 hours to put the whole boat together.

The Dragon Force yacht is uniquely more efficient than its competitors. It has a very light design, and the top notch turning controls help racers navigate it a lot better than other RC boats. Even more, the boat is priced quite low, which is perfect for novices who aren't exactly sure of whether yacht racing fits their interests. This is a very basic boat, so if you want to competitively race it frequently, you will need to make a few enhancements on it.

Several enthusiasts have criticized this cheap model. Most of these critics point out features such as the material used in the making of the boat. Instead of a carbon keel, the hull comes with an aluminum extrusion keel. The hull also tends to become thin at the bow section when overexposed.

Due to the fact that this yacht was designed mainly for occasional hobbyists and novices, all the criticism against it doesn't have to be highly regarded. The cheaper materials are necessary to make the boat affordable, and are perfectly decent for the average occasional user. Those who frequently sail these boats should look into a different model.

If you enjoy sailing these boats as merely a small hobby or if you are new to the sport, the Dragon Force yacht is perfect. You don't need a better yacht until you decide that you want to take the sport a lot more seriously. By then, your passion will grow and you won't mind paying a whole lot more for an expensive RC model.

Dragon Force yachts come with amazing customer support and provide spare parts when needed. These helpful features are necessary to keep its customers happy. Customer loyalty is really imperative to keep this product in the market.
